Discovered the recessive trait; know as the "Father of Genetics"; contributed to the theory of heredity based on his work with pea plants. First person to trace the characteristics of generations or generations of living things.
Thomas Hunt Morgan: (1900)
Thomas discovered where genes are located and the behavior of chromosomes during meiosis accounts for inheritance patterns.
Walter Sutton (1902)
Walter Sutton figured out that chromosomes are the basis of heredity, and the reduction of chromosomes in meiosis is directly related to " Mendel's Law of Inheritance" An Inheritance pattern for autosomal gene pairs. The genetic trait displayed results from one parents gene dominating over the gene inherited from the other parent.
Frederick Griffith (1928)
Frederick Griffith tested different strains of pneumonia, virulent and non-virulent. Virulent killed the mice and non-virulent didn't. One test that he conducted with non-virulent and heat-killed virulent pneumonia, killed the mouse because the DNA transferred to the nonvirulent DNA.
Alfred Hershey and Martha Chase
By separating the protein coating from the nuclei of Bacteriophages; Hershy, and Chase found that nucleic acid not protein causes the transmission of genetic information.
Rosalind Franklin (1953)
Rosalind Franklin discover the double helix was made of two strands of DNA.
Watson & Crick (1953)
discovered that the chemical structure of DNA meets the unique requirements for a structure the encodes genetic information.
Francis Collins (1980's) & Craig Venter ( 1990-1992)
Francis Collins identified genetic defects such as diabetes.
Craig Venter created "fake" DNA through all of his studies.
Gregor Mendel (1850s-1860s)
